What KOREAN LEVEL UP is

KOREAN LEVEL UP is a Korean-learning game that runs in your browser and on your phone. You start with the Hangul alphabet and level up step by step toward TOPIK level 6 by typing, reading, listening and answering quiz questions.

It is part of KOREA HOLIC, a platform for people who love Korea and the Korean language. The game is available in 11 languages so that learners around the world can study in their own language.

What you can do here

Practice Hangul and Korean typing from the very first letters.
Learn 600 everyday phrases with romanization, meanings and usage notes, grouped by situation.
Study themed vocabulary and a 1,206-word TOPIK vocabulary list from level 1 to level 6.
Read short explanations of 133 grammar points with example sentences.
Practice listening, reading and writing, take mock-exam style sets, and review your mistakes with spaced repetition.

How our content is made

All lessons, example sentences, quizzes and explanations are written for this game. We do not copy textbooks, dictionaries, past exam papers or other websites.

Romanization follows the Revised Romanization system of the National Institute of Korean Language and is meant as a guide to pronunciation.

Translations into the 11 languages are prepared with the help of AI and are still being improved. If you find a mistake or an unnatural sentence in your language, please tell us through the Contact page; we correct reported errors.

Who runs it

KOREAN LEVEL UP is operated by KOREA HOLIC as an independent learning service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the TOPIK exam, the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) or any other exam organizer. TOPIK is used only to describe the level of the material.
