Privacy Policy

Summary
KOREAN LEVEL UP does not ask you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number. Your learning progress is stored in your own browser. We collect only anonymous usage statistics, and we show ads through Google AdSense on the web version.
What stays on your device
Your progress, scores, settings, selected language and avatar are saved in your browser (local storage). They are not sent to our server and we cannot see them. If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, they are deleted and we cannot restore them.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the service is used and to improve it, we count visits and game plays. For this, your browser creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email or device identity. We record the screens you open, game starts and completions, the interface language you chose, your browser language and time zone, and your approximate country, which is derived from the request by our server. We do not store your IP address.
Statistics are kept for a limited period (about 95 days) and are used only in aggregate form. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before these statistics start, and you can withdraw it at any time through “Privacy settings” at the bottom of the page. We do not run statistics when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
Advertising and cookies
The web version shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads and, where the law allows, to personalize them. Ads are labeled "Advertisement", and we do not show ads while you are playing a game or taking a quiz.
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), visitors are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before personalized ads are served, and can change that choice later through the privacy settings option it provides.
You can manage personalized advertising at https://adssettings.google.com and learn more about how Google uses data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads are not shown in some interface languages. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. You can also opt out of vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices (United States) or https://www.youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
Third-party services
- Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager services, for advertising as described above.
- Google Analytics 4, which we may use for aggregated statistics with IP anonymization and advertising signals turned off.
- Your device's built-in speech synthesis for the "Listen" buttons. The audio is generated on your device; we do not record your voice.
Children
KOREAN LEVEL UP is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age set by the law of your country, for example 16 in some EU countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it. In the Republic of Korea, a child under 14 needs a legal guardian’s consent before personal information may be collected.
Your choices and rights
Because we do not hold your name or email, we can normally not link statistics to you personally. You can delete everything stored on your device by clearing the site data in your browser, and you can block cookies in your browser settings. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the Korean Personal Information Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its processing. To exercise a right, contact us at . You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We handle requests under other applicable local data-protection laws, such as China’s Personal Information Protection Law, in the same way.
Security and data location
We use HTTPS and limit access to the statistics data. We rely on reputable cloud infrastructure providers; data may be processed in the Republic of Korea or in other countries where those providers operate, with appropriate safeguards where the law requires them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
